4.0 DETAILED SPECIFICATIONS FOR: FURNISH LABOR, MATERIALS, AND EQUIPMENT FOR BRUSH CLEARANCE 4.1 Scope of Work 4.1.1 The intent and purpose of this agreement is to provide brush clearance on properties owned/or managed by the City of Pasadena. 4.1.2 The work to be performed includes all labor and equipment. Work generally consists of removal of non-native plants, trail and road clearance, spreading mulch in specified areas, litter and debris removal. 4.1.3 Most sites are steeply sloped, difficult to access, and are immediately adjacent to private property. 4.1.4 Other maintenance work, including but not limited to, clearance tree pruning, deadwood removal, shrub pruning, and miscellaneous maintenance tasks may be assigned on a day-to-day basis at the discretion of the City, and performed under the direction of Cityâs contract supervisor. 4.1.5 The Parks Superintendent and Contract Supervisor shall be the sole judges as to the adequacy and quality of the work provided by the Contractor. 4.1.6 All maintenance activities shall in conducted in such a way to sustain the Arroyo Secoâs natural environment, and support the Cityâs goals and policies as included in, but not limited to, Lower Arroyo Seco Master Plans, Arroyo Seco Design Guidelines, Arroyo Seco Management Plan, and Tree Protection Ordinance. A mandatory pre-bid conference will be held at which time each bidder will have the opportunity to clarify and ask questions regarding the Specifications. The pre-bid conference will be held at 8:30 AM, June 2, 2014 at Pasadena City Yards â 233 W. [email protected] Three (3) copies of sealed bids will be received prior to 3:00 PM, June 10, 2014, by the City Clerk, 100 N. Garfield Ave., Room S-228, Pasadena, CA 91109, and will be opened at that time and place. The bids shall be clearly titled. Copies of the Specifications may be obtained by mail or in person from Enrique Arroyo of the Public Works Department, Parks and Natural Resources, 233 W. Mountain St., 2nd Floor, Pasadena, California, telephone (626) 744-7572. Refer to the Specifications for complete details and bidding requirements. The Specification and this Notice shall be considered a part of any contract made pursuant thereunder.
