Description The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 13.106(b)(1), with Information for Bruker Biospin Corporation. 44 Manning Road, Billerica, MA 01821, for repair services as stated below: Period covered: August 15, 2009 through December 30, 2009 1)Provide Parts #6103189 Gunn Block 2) 4 hours/labor, 3)Shipping charges for parts NIST’s recent market research, NIST has only identified the one source that can provide the required request Bruker. •Bruker Biospn is the manufacturer of the Gunn Block Part of the EPR bridge from BFRL’s ElexSys EPR instrument and does not sell repair parts to third parties, Bruker is the only vendor that can supply the parts. Bruker also requires its service staff to pass an in-house training course before they are authorized to repair any equipment. Bruker voids any warranty if other then their personnel provides service on their machines. The Government anticipates the award of a firm-fixed- price purchase order. This notice of intent is not a request for quotations; however, companies that believe they can fulfill the requirement may provide a written response to this notice and provide clear and unambiguous evidence to substantiate that capability. A determination by the Government whether to compete this proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competition.
