OVERVIEW: THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION. THIS NOTICE IS FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY. This is a notice of the Bureau of Engraving and Printing's (BEP) intent to award a sole source procurement to Technidyne Corporation, 100 Quality Avenue, New Albany, Indiana 47150 set forth in Federal Acquisition Regulation of 6.302-1 wherein circumstances of the contract action deem only one responsible source and no other supplies will satisfy agency requirements.

The purpose of the requirement is to purchase a Bright Meter Micro S-5/BOC that meets Technical Association of the Pulp and Paper Industry (TAPPI) T452 with the following characteristics:
a) A benchtop instrument
b) Brightness-TAPPI method T452 (Brightness of pulp, paperboard (directional reflectance at 457nm)
c) Background fluorescence-TAPPI method T452 (Brightness of pulp, paperboard (directional reflectance at 457nm)
d) Opacity -TAPPI method T425 (Opacity of paper (15/d geometry, illuminant A/2°, 89% reflectance backing and paper backing)

A determination to compete this procurement based on a response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Interested parties who believe they possess the capability to satisfy this requirement should submit documentation that clearly demonstrates their ability to provide equipment needed by the BEP. Responses to this notice shall be received no later than noon Eastern Time August 1, 2011. All responses must be in writing and are to be sent via email to the point of contact specified in this notice.
