This is a Brand Name or Equal requirement and a Small Business Set-Aside.

Background:

The National lnstitue of Standards and Technology's Faint Photonics Group requires a mechanical cryocooler for cooling electronics and optics to 4K. The system will be installed into an existing cryostat that is designed to accommodate a Sumitomo RDK-l0lD or a product equivalent in capabilities and dimensions. The cryocooler must get to a temperature of at least 4K with a cooling power of l00mW or greater. There is a cryostat that has been assembled from spare parts at NIST in the Faint Photonics Group. It needs a mechanical cooler Sumitomo RDK-101D or equivalent capability/dimensions to complete the system.
