The Bureau’s Office of Information Technology (OIT), Computer Services Administration and User Support(CSAUS) has a requirement for one Dell EMC Storage Chassis along with all internal drives, licenses, with warranties and accessories. The equipment is required to meet the Bureau’s mission to provide offline storage for housing home directories, data log retention requirements, and provide a repository for ISO files and patch management executables for supporting and maintaining the Phase II i-Connect system. Phase II i-Connect is currently an all Dell hardware consolidated build providing the inmate education production environment. The storage device will be integrated into the current infrastructure and support our current Dell Wyse Thin OS/Wyse Management OU’s as well as the clustered Dell FX2 servers. The storage chassis will also provide space for backing up configurations and virtual machines. Purchasing a Dell storage chassis will provide compatibility and consistency as well as meet our storage solution needs, patch management repository, and also maintaining a homogenous environment. This will provide CSAUS’s limited support staff the ability to provide better IT Support by focusing on a single manufacturer, better coordinate hardware warranty support, and maintenance with one manufacturer instead of several.
