The City of Madison is soliciting bids for the Bradford Farms Sidewalk Project | #2020-004-ITB, which consists of the furnishing of all labor, materials, and equipment as required by and according to the details, specifications, and contract documents contained in the Invitation to Bid and as generally described as follows: The Bradford Farms sidewalk project consists of adding sidewalks and rehabilitating existing sidewalks along Bradford Farms Drive from Hughes Road traveling east to Green Springs Lane including Green Springs Lane from Bradford Farms Drive north to the cul-de-sac. The Project consists of a base bid and one (1) add alternate. The base bid includes sidewalk removal and installation on the south side of Bradford Farms Drive and on the west side of Green Springs Lane. Add Alternate one (1) consists of installing sidewalk along the north side of Bradford Farms Drive. The project includes all work items necessary to complete the project. The City will arrange for tree removal prior to sidewalk construction, and the City will arrange for utility relocation prior to the start of the project. The sidewalk must conform to ADA requirements. Contractor must perform work under traffic using MUTCD standards for traffic control. Traffic must be maintained throughout the project. Working hours are 7:00am -7:00pm. The timeframe for completion is approximately six months from the Notice to Proceed date. All work is to be performed per the general and technical specifications and plans contained in the Invitation to Bid packet, which can be obtained at www.madisonal.gov under the Open Bids tab at no charge. No pre-qualification is required for this project. An optional Pre-Bid Conference will be held at 2:00pm local time on Tuesday, July 21, 2020, in Council Chambers in the Madison Municipal Complex located at 100 Hughes Road, Madison, Alabama 35758. Sealed bids for the performance of such work will be received in the Legal Department located on the main level of the Madison Municipal Complex, 100 Hughes Road, until 2:00pm local time on Tuesday, August 4, 2020. Immediately thereafter, all bids submitted for the project will be opened in Council Chambers and evaluated with the intention of awarding a contract to the lowest responsible and responsive bidder. Only properly licensed general contractors per Alabama law may submit a bid. Bids must be submitted on the required forms provided by the City of Madison Legal Department and may not be faxed or e-mailed.
