Bloomingdale Public Library Bloomingdale, Illinois ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS Bloomingdale Public Library (Owner) will receive sealed bids for the: 2021 Froio Memorial Garden Project ATTN: Tim Jarzemsky, Library Director The Bid Opening will be on April 30, 2021 at 1:30 p.m. at the Bloomingdale Public Library, 101 Fairfield Way, Bloomingdale, IL 60108. At this time the Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. A Bid Security of 10% of the Bid in the form of a cashier's or certified check payable to the Owner or a bid bond acceptable to the Owner is required with the proposal. The Contractor must pay the Prevailing Wage Rates and otherwise fully conform with the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act. It is the policy of the Library to provide equal opportunity to all qualified businesses in the awarding of contracts and accordingly promotes the utilization of diversified businesses to the maximum extent feasible in any contract issued pursuant to this Bid. A MANDATORY Pre-Bid Conference shall be held on April 16, 2021, beginning at 10:00 a.m. to walk the site under consideration for this project. Failure of a potential bidder to attend the Pre-Bid meeting shall disqualify such potential bidder from bidding on this project. Everyone shall meet at the Library, 101 Fairfield Way, Bloomingdale, IL 60108. Following a brief sign-in procedure, the walk-through will commence. Only contractors on the plan holders list shall be allowed to participate in the walk-through and therefore be eligible to Bid on this project. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive irregularities in the bidding procedure, or accept the Bid that, in its opinion, will serve the best interest of the Library. Any such decision shall be considered final. The Owner reserves the right to disqualify a Bid from a Contractor who, in the Owner's opinion, does not exhibit the capability to complete the project and in the Contractor's past experience has not completed a project that is at least equal to the scope and size of this project. The bidder shall have a written sexual harassment policy in place in full compliance with Section 2-105 of the Illinois Human Rights Act. The successful bidder shall, upon execution of the contract for the work, present to the Owner Performance and Payment Bonds issued by a surety company acceptable to the Owner, in the amount of the Contract to guaranty completion of the Project and payment of all subcontractors and material suppliers. A non-refundable deposit of $75 per set is required for 1 set of drawings and 1 specification with a maximum of 3 sets.
