TITLE: BUILDING 207 RESPONSE ROBOTIC TEST FACILITY ADDITION DESIGN/BUILD SERVICES
This is a SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE to determine the availability 8(a), Service-disabled veteran owned small business, HUBZone small business, Small disadvantaged business, Veteran-owned small business, Tribal-owned small business, and Women-owned small business, large businesses under NAICS code, 236220, that have the capability, experience, and expert knowledge to provide Architectural design, Engineering design and Construction Services.
The National Institute of Standards & Technology (NIST) is a Research & Development (R&D) facility with 52 buildings located on (578-acre) site in Gaithersburg, Maryland. The NIST site has approximately 3,424,353 gross square feet (GSF) of floor space including R&D, office, and service areas. The majority of the buildings are brick exterior in construction and are approximately 50 - 60 years old.
NIST is seeking information on qualified Large and Small Businesses for a Design/Build contract that can provide Architectural design, Engineering design and Construction Services under NAICS Code 236220. If a contract can be subsequently awarded it will be for a New Construction Building, renovations of ancillary building, associated site work and new utilities infrastructure.
General Requirements:
The contractor will be responsible for designing and building a New Construction Response Robotic Test Facility. New electrical feeder, sewer line, water line and Site work may be required. This project may include the associated modification of, and/or new installation of mechanical, electrical life safety and architectural systems and services in multiple existing campus buildings.
Additionally, the New Robotic Response Test Facility will be in close proximity to an Existing Occupied Robotic Test Facility. Work in the Existing Robotic Test Facility may also be required and may include mechanical, electrical, life safety, and architectural modifications associated with updating state-of-the-art research facility.
The Project may be subject to conformance with the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties (SOI Standards), Maryland Historic Trust, Commission of Fine Arts, and National Capital Planning Commission.
Interested sources that believe they possess the capabilities necessary to provide the design/building services and are asked to submit an electronic copy of their capability statement, addressing the experience identified above. Any proprietary information should be marked. Written capability statement shall clearly and unambiguously demonstrate ability to do the work required in the notice.
