National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) plans to procure on a sole source basis with Growth Curves USA , 11 Blueberry Ct, Piscataway, NJ for Bioscreen C MBR. Bioscreen C MBR is a unique, high-capacity system designed to automate the analysis of microbiology growth curves. The instrument is computer controlled (via PC provided by customer). It includes a shaker, incubator, light source, filterwheel with eight different filters from 405 nm to 600 nm, including a wideband filter. Included are power cord and computer connection cord. The length of tests performed by Bioscreen C can be set from hours to months. The incubator system has a working range from 1to60 degrees C. in steps of 0.1 degree, and maintains accuracy within 0.1 degree of set temperature.
Only one award will be made as a result of this solicitation. This will be awarded as a firm-fixed price type contract.
BioScreen software is provided with the system. Its advanced features enhance system capabilities for optimum performance. Users can view growth curves in real-time, pause experiment to change conditions, zoom in to magnify sections of curve, export results to Text, CSV, XLS, or HTML formats.
This acquisition will be processed in accordance with simplified acquisition procedures as stated in FAR Part 13.106-1(b)(1). The North American Industry Classification System Code is 334516 and the business size standard is 500.
This is not a solicitation for competitive quotations. However, if any interested party believed they can meet the above requirement, they may submit a statement of capabilities. All information furnished must be in writing and must contain sufficient detail to allow the NIDDK to determine if it can meet the above unique specifications described herein. An original and one copy of the capability statement must be received in the DK Acquisitions Branch on or before 11:00 AM EST on September 16, 2013. No electronic capability statements will be accepted (i.e. email or fax); an original and one copy must be sent to the DK Acquisitions Branch to the address stated above.
