The United States Department of Agriculture – Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ), Center for Plant Health Science and Technology (CPHST) anticipates a sole source (name brand) procurement under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 for the following requirement: Platinum Taq DNA Polymerase, MLV-Reverse Transcriptase, RNASE H (E.COLI), RNASEOUT RECOMB.RNASE INHIB., TOPO TA Cloning Kit, Immedia AMP Liquid, Immedia AMP Agar, SSIII 1 Step with Plat Taq, MEM NEAA RMPA 1640, Hybridoma SFM, Fungizone, CO2 Independent Med, DMEM. The use of these specific materials are required to maintain current protocols undergoing validation and several validated testing protocols, some of which are used in Animal Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) – Plant Protections Quarantine (PPQ) approved National Surveys for several program pest and in the National Plant Germplasm Quarantine Unit. These reagents/biological materials must be purchased from existing source in order to avoid contamination or introduction of new variables into testing projects. No other supplies/services will satisfy agency needs. The manufacturer Invitrogen Corporation, and we anticipate an award to this company. This is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a future competitive procurement. No requests for capability briefings will be honored as a result of this notice.
