The NIDDK Biotechnology Core provides bioproduction services within the NIH intramurally and extramurally and works to develop processes that optimize production strategies for the purpose of contributing to the scientific literature. Bioproduction work is done at several scales from the microscale to bioscale-up facility scale (100L). Production on scales ranging from 500 mL to 100L necessitates the use of bioreactors. In order to maintain the capacity of the facility, bioreactors that have reached the end of their useful life must be replaced.
