The USDA National Veterinary Services Laboratory Ames, IA, intends to award procurement of a New Brunswick Fermenter to Eppendorf North America. The BioFlo 320 System is compatible with our existing control cabinets, software and other equipment. BioFlo 320 System works in conjunction with the existing BioFlo 115 accessories, fermenter vessel and Batch control software. Both the BioFlo 320 and BioFlo 115 use the same accessories and software which allow for large reagent production for use in potency testing. This ongoing research using the New Brunswick BioFlo 320 System will be conducted in accordance with the procedures in FAR Part 13.106 and 6.303-2. The purchase determination is based on past similar purchases, the requirement to maintain consistency in reagents used and ability to continue use of product approved for use in existing laboratory equipment and testing. Establishing a new source for this product has been unsuccessful due to the proprietary nature of this equipment and material. The cost has been determined fair and reasonable based on current technical knowledge of fair market value. The anticipated purchase order value to Eppendorf North America, Inc. is $51,819.04. This is not a request for quotation. However, all interested parties may contact the Contract Specialist listed below. Sources interested in responding to this requirement must be able to provide compelling evidence that they can obtain/provide the testing capabilities and turnaround capability required for this project.
