The vendor shall provide an equipment of brand name or equal specification to the Bio-Rad Quest 10 Plus Chromatography System and a BioFrac Fractionation System. Equipment installation, software and 12 months warranty that includes parts and labor must be provided. NIAMS is seeking to acquire a fast protein liquid chromatography instrument of brand name or equal specification to the NIAMS Bio-Rad Quest 10 Plus Chromatography and BioFrac Fractionation Systems.
In order to support existing research projects, the laboratory requires a Fast Protein Liquid Chromatography instrument (FPLC) with the following
characteristics:
- Standalone with small footprint protein purification apparatus
- Allow for the purification of proteins, RNPs, and RNAs
- Be capable of handling multiple protein purification strategies, including gel filtration, IMAC, or ion-exchange chromatography
- Be programmable, automated operation
- Supports automated fractionation collection
- Be capable of conductive measurements
- Be modular for future expansions/increased capability
- Includes a high-resolution touchscreen to visualize results
- Create an accurate blended buffer gradient
- Allow flexible placement of valves and detectors to minimize flow path
- Allow user friendly setup of connections, e.g. by LED-guided plumbing
- Allow user-friendly extension and addition of modules, ideally through automated module discovery and easy application-based system setup
- Include a multiwavelength detection module for simultaneous four-wavelength detection at 190–800 nm (UV/VIS)
- Automated 10 ml/min pumps
- Supports flow rates of 0.001–10 ml/min at 3,650 psi
- Injection valve must multiple volume injections (263 to 750 microliters)
- Include a pre-installed machine control and analysis software
- Software must support instrument control, data collection and analysis
