This is a notice of intent to award a sole-source purchase order and is not a request for competitive proposals. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Office of NCIRD/DBD Division of Bacterial DiseasesBranch intends to solicit and enter into a contract with Life Technologies Corporation, 5791 Van Allen Way, Carlsbad, CA 92008-7321. This is a sole source requirement for the following product: BigDye Terminator v3.1 Cycle Sequencing Kit (5000 rxns), Catalog #4337457.

The Government intends to solicit, negotiate and award to only one contractor using other than full and open competition procedures pursuant to the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1). The NAICS code for this acquisition is 334516 and the small business size standard is 500 employees. Life Sciences Corporation is the only vendor that can supply this reagent. Award will be made using Simplified Acquisition Procedures found in FAR Part 13

This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, the Government shall consider all responses received within three (5) days of this posting. A determination by the CDC not to compete this proposed contract, based upon responses to this notification, is solely within the discretion of the Contracting Officer.
