Title: Lab Equipment/Supplies, BigDye Terminator Sequencing Kit (DNA Sequencing Reagents)

NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE: The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announces its intention to negotiate a sole source follow-on award with Applied Biosystems. The CDC Agency currently have numerous Applied Biosystems that sequence the appropriate amplicon and generate valuable analytical data to continue the smooth operation of the agency's core sequencing laboratory. The BigDye Terminator is a chemical reagent that is used for all DNA sequencing in the lab. The sequencing reagents are specific to the ABI Sequencers currently maintained in the laboratory and to remain in complaint with the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendment (CLIA) guidelines, it is relative to maintain consistency in meeting the agency's program needs.

CDC intends to negotiate this requirement with HRET under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 and HHSAR 306.302-1, Only One Responsible Source, and 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1).
This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination to compete this procurement based on a response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Interested parties who believe they possess the capabilities to satisfy this requirement should submit a capability statement demonstrating their abilities to meet this requirement. All responses should be received by the December 31, 2010, at 4 PM, Eastern Standard Time (EST).
