Title: Lab Equipment/Supplies, Big Dye Terminator V.3.1 & Sequence Buffer

NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE: The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announces its intention to negotiate a sole source follow-on award with Applied Biosystems. The CDC Division of Tuberculosis Elimination currently utilizes Applied Biosystems sequencing equipment which requires the use of Taqman Reagents. To continue the smooth operation of the agency's core sequencing laboratory and to avoid re-validation of diagnostic assays, the Big Dye Terminator Sequencing Buffer and reagants are needed to help maintain consistentency. Applied Biosystems' reageant kits produces the most reproducible test results in helping to fulfill the agency's program needs.

CDC intends to negotiate this requirement with HRET under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 and HHSAR 306.302-1, Only One Responsible Source, and 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1).
This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination to compete this procurement based on a response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Interested parties who believe they possess the capabilities to satisfy this requirement should submit a capability statement demonstrating their abilities to meet this requirement. All responses should be received by the November 18, 2011 at 12 Noon, Eastern Standard Time (EST).
