BID NOTICE The Geneva Community Unit School District 304 Board of Education is accepting bids from roofing contractors for a roof renovation project at Geneva High School, the Geneva High School Boiler House and Harrison Street Elementary School in Geneva Illinois. The scope of work period includes providing all labor, materials, machinery, tools, equipment, and other means of construction necessary for completion of the work indicated in the Bid Documents including, but not necessarily limited to, the following: selective roofing system demolition, single ply roof system repairs, new modified bitumen roof systems, urethane roof coatings and other related roof repairs and renovations. The work sites are Geneva High School and Boiler House, 416 McKinley Avenue, and Harrison Street Elementary School, 201 Harrison Street, Geneva, IL 60134. The on-site construction is scheduled to commence during the 2021 summer break starting approximately on Monday, June 7, 2021 with a Substantial Completion date of Monday, August 9, 2021. A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at Geneva High School, 416 McKinley Avenue, Geneva, IL 60134. Meet at the main office. A Bidder's failure to attend the mandatory pre-bid meeting will be considered grounds for rejection of the Contractor's bid. Sealed bids must be received by Mr. Scott Ney at main office of Geneva High School, 416 McKinley Avenue, Geneva, IL 60134 on or before 4:00 p.m. local time on Tuesday, April 27, 2021. The sealed bids will then be publicly opened and read. It is anticipated that the contracts will be awarded by the Board of Education at their regular meeting on Monday, May 10, 2021. Each bid must be accompanied by a bid security in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the Base Bid. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish construction performance and labor and material payment bonds in the full amount of the final subcontract Contract Sum. Contractor shall not pay less than the prevailing rates of wages to all laborers, workmen, and mechanics performing work under this contract, and shall comply with the requirements of the Illinois Wages of Employees on Public Works Act (820 ILCS 130/1-12). The Contractor will be required to submit electronic copies of their certified payrolls with each application for payment using the Illinois Department of Labor's Prevailing Wage Portal. The Geneva Community Unit School District 304 Board of Education reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, reject nonconforming bids, reject conditional bids, waive irregularities in the bidding procedures, or to accept any bid that, in its sole opinion, best serves the interests of the School District.
