ADVERTISEMENT FOR BID NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Bozeman, MT is requesting separate sealed bids for: New Hyalite View Subdivision – Sanitary Sewer Service Connection Improvements Separate sealed bids for construction of City of Bozeman New Hyalite View Subdivision – Sanitary Sewer Service Connection Improvements will be received by the City Engineering Department on the second floor of the office of the Alfred Stiff Professional Building, 20 East Olive Street, Bozeman, Montana 59771 until 2:00 p.m., local time, June 11, 2020. Bids will be opened via WebEx video conference at 4pm on Thursday, June 11, 2020. Instructions for participating in the WebEx are included in Section 01020 of the bidding documents. Please write the name of the project on the front of the sealed bid. The physical address is: City Engineer’s Office, Professional Building, 20 East Olive Street, Bozeman, Montana. The mailing address is: City Engineer’s Office, 20 East Olive Street, P.O. Box 1230, Bozeman, Montana 59771. Bids must be received before the stated time. Original copies must be submitted - no faxed or electronic bids will be accepted. Bids will be opened and read following the close of bids. Project generally includes, but is not limited to the following: The City of Bozeman New Hyalite View Subdivision - Sanitary Sewer Service Connection Improvements project includes excavation to and replacement of approximately 197 sanitary sewer service lateral connections on the existing 8-inch diameter sanitary sewer mains serving the project area. The existing clay tile sewer mains were previously slip-lined with Cured-In-Place-Pipe (CIPP) and the sewer service laterals were reinstated from inside the sewer main. This project includes replacement of the sewer service laterals with new water-tight connections and several feet of new sewer service pipe to reconnect to the existing sewer services. All work will be completed within public open space (right-of-way) or utility easements on private property. Work includes all excavation, pipe connection materials and installation, backfill, and surface restoration including areas of sodding, seeding, asphalt replacement, temporary relocation and replacement of private fence sections and tree trimming and/or removal, as required to complete the work. The Contract Documents may be examined and obtained at the office of the City of Bozeman Engineering Department, 20 East Olive Street, Bozeman, Montana, 59771-1230, (406) 582-2280, in accordance with the Instructions To Bidders. Required deposit is $50.00 per set, which is not refundable. There will be an optional Pre-Bid Conference via WebEx Video Conference at 10:00 A.M. on June 4, 2020. CONTRACTOR and any of the CONTRACTOR’S subcontractors bidding or doing work on this project will be required to be registered with the Montana Department of Labor and Industry (DLI). Forms for registration are available from the DLI, PO Box 8011, 1805 Prospect, Helena, Montana 59604-8011. Information on registration can be obtained by calling (406) 444-7734. CONTRACTOR is required to have registered with the DLI prior to bidding on this project. All laborers and mechanics employed by CONTRACTOR or subcontractors in performance of the construction work shall be paid wages at rates as may be required by the laws of Gallatin County and the State of Montana. Discrimination in the performance of any contract awarded under this invitation on the basis of race, color, religion, creed, sex, age, marital status, national origin, or actual or perceived sexual orientation, gender identity or disability is prohibited. This prohibition shall apply to the hiring and treatment of the awarded entity’s employees and to all subcontracts. Every entity submitting under this invitation must sign and return the required affirmation. Each Bid or proposal must be accompanied by a Certified Check, Cashier’s Check, or Bid Bond payable to the City of Bozeman, Montana, in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the Bid. Successful BIDDERS shall furnish an approved Performance Bond and a Labor and Materials Payment Bond, each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract amount. Insurance, as required, shall be provided by the successful BIDDER(s) and certificates of that insurance shall be provided. No Bid may be withdrawn after the scheduled time for the public opening of bids. The City of Bozeman reserves the right to reject any or all proposals received, to waive informalities to postpone the award of the contract for a period not to exceed sixty (60) days, and to accept the lowest responsive and responsible bid which is in the best interest of the City of Bozeman.
