Federal Prison Industries, (UNICOR) currently produces military uniforms and other textile items for various federal agencies to include DOD. We are researching sources for our raw materials in manufacturing these end items.  In addition to the currently awarded contracts, UNICOR intends to quote on future solicitations of both the US Military and other various Federal Agencies.  The primary objective of this RFI will be used by the Contracting Staff to develop an acquisition strategy on raw materials used to produce military uniforms for the DOD at various UNICOR factories located throughout the United States.  Unicor is looking for sources that can provide Berry Amendment zippers and fasteners to go into various production lines to include trousers, jackets, molle rucksacks, etc. These will be shipped throughout different Unicor factories located in the United States. There are 230 lines on the solicitation that we plan on posting in the near future. On the attached RFI, there are 10 random sizes and types of zippers for an idea of what products we are looking for.
