The research in our laboratory is centered on the biological synthesis of biopolymers and biosurfactants. As such, we utilize fermentation systems where we can closely control the growth conditions as a means of improving product yields. The fermentation system will provide a means of producing the biologically-derived products of interest in yields necessary to carry out further characterization studies and assess application potential.
