BenchMark Special Stains upgrade replacement instrument This is a notice of intent, not a request for a quotation. A solicitation document will not be issued and quotations will not be requested The National Institutes of Health (NIH), Clinical Center (CC) Department of Laboratory Medicine (DLM), intends to award a firm fixed purchase order to Roche Diagnostics Corporation, Indianapolis, IN, 46250 to procure the upgraded instrument of the Ventana BenchMark Special Stain Full System, that is in place in the Hematology laboratory for patient testing. Roche Diagnostics Corporation who purchased Ventana Medical Systems Inc. is the trademark holder and only known distributor of the BenchMark Special Stain Full System. There is no other manufacture that can be qualified as this instrument intended to be integrated into our existing Roche/Ventana modular system consisting of 4 analyzers, controlled by one PC. Any substitutions to the current instrumentation could invalidate the Ventana staining platforms, and delay clinical assessment. Any third-party product will void the current warranty of the equipment that would be detrimental to the government. The instrument and reagents used is a comprehensive package that includes rigorously executed protocol documentation as well as data collection to keep the lab instrument audit-ready The acquisition is being conducted using policies unique to the acquisition of commercial items prescribed in FAR Part 12, in conjunction with the policies and procedures for the competition requirements of FAR part 6.302-1. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this posting. The determination by the Government no to compete the proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
