Long Beach Transit (LBT) is currently in the process of soliciting a Request for Proposal (RFP) from Bus Manufacturers for the procurement and delivery of twenty (20), 30 to 35-foot Battery Electric Buses (BEB) with an option to purchase an additional twenty (20) BEBs later. The due date for all proposals is May 29, 2020. LBT anticipates receipt of four (4) proposals. LBT has an active contract with the Center for Transportation and Environment (CTE) to evaluate the technology section of the proposals using a route model to analyze the energy storage and propulsion system components. LBT also has an active contract with the University of West Virginia to conduct a Life Cycle Cost (LCC) analysis to satisfy the “Price” section of the proposals.
