The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease (NIAID) intends to procure reagents on an other than full and open competition basis for Life Technologies Corporation, 3175 Staley Road, Grand Island, NY 14072 1) BDT V3.1 RR-5000 & SEQ BUFFER, QTY 1 EACH, Catalog #4337457.  Life Technologies Corporation is the only responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements because the supplies and reagents must be compatible with the laboratory equipment currently being used in the laboratory.  Other items would jeopardize the equipment (this source is the manufacturer/distributor) causing the current maintenance contract to be voided.  This is not a request for proposal.  All responsible sources who have the technical capability to supply these reagents and past performance, submit a response that will be considered.  The Government reserves the right to make a decision whether to this requirement is available for competition. Responses must be submitted no later than 1:00 P.M. Eastern Time on Thursday 15 May, 2014.
