This is a NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE AGREEMENT using the simplified acquisition procedures under FAR part 13.303, Blanket Purchase Agreements (BPA), to procure Bates Lite High Gloss Shoes, Model #940 in various sizes for the United States Marine Band (USMB) and the Drum & Bugle Corps (D&B) located in Washington District of Columbia. The Government intends to award a sole source Blanket Purchase Agreement for the above supplies to Bates - A Division of Wolverine World Wide, Inc, 9341 Courtland Drive NE Rockford, MI 49351. The purposed action is for supplies for which government intends to solicit only one source under NAICS 316213, Men’s Footwear Manufacturing. Under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies will satisfy the agency requirements because Wolverine World Wide, Inc. designed and manufactures the Bates Model #940 specifically for military personnel and this model is not offered under their commercial catalogs. In addition, Bates shoes are the brand approved by the United Stated Marine Corps Uniform Board. DURATION: This requirement will be for an agreement for a base period and 4 ordering periods. This notice is for information purposes only and is not a request for quotation. No solicitation document is available and telephone, fax, or e-mail requests will not be honored. No contract/agreement will be awarded on the basis of offers received in response to this notice. A determination not to compete this proposed contract based on this notice is within the discretion of the Government.
