1.0 General.  The Military Sealift Command (MSC) requires a CABLESHIP and crew to provide rapid response to lay, inspect and repair in-shore and deep water submarine cable systems using an ROV. The vessel shall be a United States (U.S.) flag commercial vessel, registered and operated under the laws of the U.S., and crewed by U.S. citizens. The vessel will also be required to perform installation, plowing, repair and maintenance of deep water and near shore oceanographic measurement systems. In accordance with decisions of the U.S. Customs Service, Jones Act compliance is not required of a cable-laying vessel. 1.1 Area of Operations.  Operations will be conducted worldwide at depths up to 8,000 meters. 1.3 Redelivery:  Naval Weapons Station Yorktown, Cheatham Annex, Williamsburg, VA 1.4 Charter Period:  23 JANUARY 2020 to 22 DECEMBER 2023 One six month firm period with one six-month option period, two (2) one-year option periods, and one (1) 11-month option period. 1.5 Lay Days:  Commencing on 23 January 2020 at 1000 hrs.
