66 - Base + options for Leica Aperio Scanscope
This is a Notice of Intent, not a request for proposal. The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) intends to negotiate on an other than full and open competition basis with Leica Biosystems, Buffalo Grove, IL to
procure a base plus option years' service contract.
This base plus options requirement is needed for supporting the ongoing research that is taking place in the Laboratory of Infectious Diseases (LID) to investigate the efficacy of vaccine constructs against certain strains of the influenza virus and other infectious diseases.
The service will include annual preventative maintenance (PM) and software maintenance. Software Maintenance contract for Aperio eSlide ScanScope XT for a 12-month period with the option to exercise option years:
Period of Performance for base year to be 01/01/2018 to 12/31/2018
Option year one: 01/01/2019 to 12/31/2019
Option year two: 01/01/2020 to 12/31/2020
Option year three: 01/01/2021 to 12/31/2021
Option year four: 01/01/2022 to 12/31/2022

Offeror must include a quote for the base plus all four option years. Offerors MUST be able to provide new OEM replacement parts and certified technicians.

The statutory authority for this sole source requirement is 41 U.S.C. 1901 (a) (1) as implemented by FAR 13.106-1 only one responsible source and no other supply of service will satisfy agency requirements.
