U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command – Armaments Center (CCDC-AC), Small Caliber Munitions Division FCDD-ACM-MI at Picatinny Arsenal, NJ, is conducting market research to determine the ability to manufacture and produce Ballistic Gelatin Powder.

REQUIREMENT:

1. 1. Pharmaceutical and Optical Grade, Type A, gelling protein obtained from collagen extracted from denatured sources (porcine)

1. 1. Physical Properties:

1. 1. 1. Bloom strength shall be 250 +/-5 g per USP/NF

1. 1. 1. Viscosity shall be 44 + 2.0 mps per GMIA

1. 1. 1. Clarity shall be < 25 NTU per CCL-010

1. 1. 1. Ash and bacteria content shall be minimized.

1. 1. 1. Shelf Life When protected from water in a temperature and humidity conditioned environment, the gelatin shall have a shelf life greater than 3 years.

1. 1. 1. Ballistic Gelatin Powder shall be packaged in 100lb drums, each pallet shall be no more than 1,200lbs, each pallet shall be made of the same lot of Ballistic Gelatin.

1. 1. 1. A 30lb - 7"W x 7"H x 18"L block at 20% concentration shall be made and photographed. The photograph shall be sent to the buyer who will deem the color acceptable. 

1. 1. 1. The quality control record of the lot shall be provided.
