The National Institute on Aging, IRP, intends to negotiate and award a purchase order on a noncompetitive basis with Johns Hopkins University, Bayview Proteomics Group, Baltimore, MD 21224 for follow-up assays. The Proteomics Assays include: Assay 1: 2DE (DIGE gels including cy dyes) 20 each; Assay 2: Dephosphorylation experiments 7 each; Assay 3: Deglycosylation experiments 7 each; Assay 4: Gel Image Analysis 45 each; Assay 5: Lipid raft isolation; Assay 6: MALDI TOF MS gel spots; Assay 7: LC MS MS (gel spots + lipid raft fractions 45 each; Assay 8: MS Identification and dtat mining 180 each; and Assay 9: IMAC phosphor-peptide enrichment MS 7 each . The specialized proteomics analysis of cardiac tissues will be performed using assays specifically developed by Bayview Proteomics Group for the specific conditions of the Laboratory of Cardiovascular Sciences, NIA. Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements, 41 U.S.C. 253 (c)(1), FAR 6.302-1 (b)(1). The cited authority is applicable since Johns Hopkins University, Bayview Proteomics Group is the only source that can fulfill the requirements of this contract. The period of performance is 6 months. The North American Industry Classification (NAICS) is 541380 and the size standard is $6.5 million. This acquisition is being conducted under Simplified Acquisition procedures and is exempt from the requirements of FAR, Part 6, Competition Requirement.
