The contractor provider shall, independently and not as an agent of the Government, provide the Government with access to up to 48 healthy flavivirus seronegative adult rhesus monkeys (Macacca mulatta) to be vaccinated with various flavivirus DNA vaccines candidates so that CDC can assess the safety, immunogenicity and protective efficacy of various vaccine regimens. It is believed that Southwest National Primate Research Center (SNPRC), San Antonio, Texas, is the only known institution that meets the requirements mentioned above. It is the intent of CDC to award a contract to SNPRC if this is found to be true.
