The BLM has a requirement for a cultural resource inventory report for 900 acres of Class III, intensive, inventory of rolling mesatop terrain bisected by steep rugged canyons. Vegetation consists of dense woodland interspersed amid broad open areas of sage on the mesatops with sparse pinyon and juniper woodland on the canyon talus slopes and riparian vegetation in the canyon bottoms. Moderate to deep reddish-brown windblown loess deposits occur on the mesatops with eroded sandstones and shales across the drainage/canyon slopes. The mesatop soils were fertile and well-drained and frequently utilized by prehistoric pueblo peoples for farming; and elevations and climate in this area are suitable for growing corn. Evidence of historic agricultural development in this area exists as well and may possess a high degree of integrity as public access to this area has been generally limited by adjacent private land and the lack of easy public access. The period of performance is from August 1st, 2006 through December 31, 2006. This requirement is open to Total Small Business Set Asides.
