This requirement is being procured and an award will be made in accordance with FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The office of NOAA, National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), Southwest Fisheries Science Center (SWFSC) located in La Jolla, California intends to award a contract on a sole source basis to World Wildlife Fund, Indonesia (WWFI), for monitoring and protection of leatherbacks turtles. WWFI has established a close collaboration with local stakeholders ( government and local communities) that make them uniquely qualified to achieve the objectives of this project. They work with Government Agency responsible for Wildlife Management (KSDA), and have the infrastructure, permits, experience and personnel, they have also committed matching funds for this project. Interested parties must respond to this announcement within fifteen (15) calendar days of its publication. The period of performance is June 2006 through February 2007.
