The Naval Air Systems Command intends to award a contract modification to General Electric Aircraft Engines on a sole source basis for a Maintenance Plan Review and Build Specification Review for the T58, T64, and F404 Engines. This modification will be placed against contract N00019-99-C-1427 with General Electric Aircraft Engines. This effort shall include submission of an Overarching Baseline Description, a review of the Maintenance Plan, a review of Depot Level Maintenance practices against the system baseline, a review of Intermediate Level Maintenance practices against the system baseline, and review of the Organizational Level Maintenance practices against the system baseline for the purpose of optimizing rework and maintenance activities on the T58, T64, and F404 engines. This effort is being awarded to General Electric Aircraft Engines because they are the sole designer, developer, and manufacturer of the T58, T64, and F404 engines and are the only firm that possesses the technical data and in-depth knowledge of the engine designs necessary to complete these reviews within the required time frames.
