The FDA has a requirement for and anticipates a sole source award for an accurate and timely letter report on the use of ionizing radiation on individuals and the general public for non-medical purposes. The use of ionizing radiation for security products poses new questions on the appropriateness of and limitations on, exposures to the general public for other than medical uses. The Contractor will be required to provide recommendations on the use of ionizing radiation for security purposes The FDA anticipates a sole source award with The National Council on Radiation and Measurement (NCRP) for and estimated period of performance of 8 months.
