The purpose of this sources sought notice is for the VA to seek qualified sources, conduct market research, and determine a set-aside requirement for this requirement.
The VA has a requirement to secure Human Exome chip based genotyping services to support the VA's Genomic Medicine Program. Contractors shall be capable of performing high-throughput Human Exome Genotyping of human DNA samples at >97% genotyping call rate and 99% reproducibility. Contractor shall also have the ability to manufacture or purchase and process 'Human exome' genotyping chip on one of the two VA approved genotyping platforms.
Coded human genomic DNA samples will be sent to the contractor facility from the MAVERIC Biorepository in Boston. The contractor is to perform all standard DNA quality checks and report back DNA QC data and get approval from the VA PM before genotyping the samples on a "Human Exome Chip" on one of the two VA approved genotyping platforms. The contents of Human exome chip used should have at the minimum 600,000-1million markers, and include the contents derived by the Exome Chip Design Consortium (http://genome.sph.umich.edu/wiki/Exome_Chip_Design), at least 300,000 tag SNP's from previous GWAS hits and ancestry markers besides custom contents to be derived by the VA.
The intention of this notice is to seek sources that could potentially provide these services. Firms with interest and capability to respond to this requirement should develop short (1 page) narrative capability statement and any other information indicating capability to successfully meet the requirements as well as the company's size status. Responding to this notice does not guarantee any opportunity for the contract, and is only used for the VA's planning purposes.
