The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to award, on a sole source basis, a Purchase Order to the Ohio State University Research Foundation. BACKGROUND: The spatial distribution of pollutant concentrations is currently being characterized in a study supported by USAID/India. In this soon to be completed study, the gridded concentrations of ozone, nitrogen oxides (NOx), carbon monoxide (CO), peroxyacyl nitrates (PAN), and other pollutants over the Indian region are being characterized using a sophisticated computer model. Computed concentrations of pollutants in the surface air are used to identify the hot spots. The purpose of this collaborative pilot study is: Identify and map hot spots of ozone across the Tamil Nadu Region of Southern India; Describe the spatial and temporal distribution of ozone and criteria air pollutants across Chennai city; Correlate regional air pollutant concentrations with measures of health outcomes; Develop an exposure-response relationship for air pollutants and health outcomes that is appropriate for the Indian Region. This is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation is available. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability by responding to the requirement with written notice to the Contracting Officer within 15 calendar days from the date of this synopsis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
