The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to utilize a company with expertise in toxicological testing of tobacco smoke. The purpose for the testing cigarette smoke condensate in cytoxicity assays in a variety of different cellular or molecular endpoints. The data generated by these assays may assist in the identification of short-term tests that can distinguish between the toxicity of smoke of cigarettes that differ in blend, design or chemical composition and will facilitate a greater understanding of how tobacco causes disease. There is no incumbent contractor for this requirement, be advised it is a new requirement and a prior contract does not exist. The Request for Quotations will be available from this website only; within 24 hours of this notice. Questions regarding the RFQ shall be submitted in writing to the Contracting Officer. Questions are due by June 13, 2005. Questions will only be taken by email. Once the questions are submitted and answered they will be posted at this location for all to view. This is a small business set aside and all vendors wishing to provide a quotation must be registered in the Central Contracting Registry before being considered for award.
