The U.S. Department of Commerce/NOAA/Office of Habitat Conservation intends to support the American Fisheries Society (AFS) in conducting a Conference on Gear Effects on Benthic Habitat in November 2002. AFS has established a Conference Steering Committee comprised of those public and private organizations providing funding for the Conference whose purpose is to oversee and direct tasks to be conducted at the Conference. NOAA seeks to provide funding to AFS for those tasks.
