This Sources Sought Notice is for market research purposes only. This is NOT a request for SF 330's or proposals. Prospective firms' CCR registration must be current. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) -Iowa City is issuing this Sources Sought notice to determine the availability of Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB) and Veteran Owned Small Businesses (VOSB) that possess the experience and capabilities to provide A/E services for Project 636A8-11-012, A/E Services entitled "Design Asbestos Abatement Woman Clinic". Prospective firms are reminded that as per FAR 52.219-14: By submission of an offer and execution of a contract, the Offeror/Contractor agrees that in performance of the contract in the case of a contract for- (1) Services (except construction). At least 50 percent of the cost of contract performance incurred for personnel shall be expended for employees of the concern. The applicable NAICS code is 562910 with a small business size standard of $14.0 million. The construction cost estimate is less than $25,000.00. The scope of work for this project shall include but not limited to services relating to overseeing the removal of asbestos containing material in the Woman Clinic at the VAMC Iowa City, IA. A Certified Industrial Hygienist services contract will include review of an in-house design for asbestos abatement, monitoring and sampling during the asbestos abatement activities, pre-abatement meeting and final report. The Woman Clinic will consist of four exam rooms and various support rooms, including soiled and clean utility rooms, waiting room and provider offices. It is anticipated minimal pipe insulation and vinyl asbestos tiles will be abated. The CIH Consultant MUST be able to be on the project site within one day's request. Responses to this notice must be submitted in writing to Todd Yahnke, Purchasing Agent, at [email protected] (telephone inquiries/responses will not be accepted) no later than March 14, 2011 at 4:00 PM (CST) and must include the following: 1. Prospective firm's name, point of contact, address, phone number, socioeconomic status and DUNS number. 2. Detailed information of firm's previous experience on projects of a similar scope, complexity and value; including the title, location, description of work, dollar value, and a point of contact for reference (name, phone number, and email address) for each project. A maximum of five relevant projects may be submitted.
