Draft Avid FBO Notice
The United States Government Accountability Office (GAO) intends to issue an order under other than full and open competition to Avid Technology, Inc., 1101 Pennsylvania Ave. NW, Suite 600, Washington, DC 2004 to acquire an Avid AirSpeed Multi-Stream HD unit and associated installation and training. The purpose of the AirSpeed unit is to add automated real-time video transcoding capability to GAOââ¬â¢s video facility, comprised in part of an Avid Unity MediaNetwork with an Avid Interplay bundle. The acquisition of the AirSpeed unit will provide for seamless integration and a single point of accountability, establishing a strong basis of compatibility. Avid is the manufacturer and the only known distributor of the AirSpeed unit. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within forty five days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. See Note 22.
