NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Center, San Diego Contracting Department, IAW FAR Part 12, Commercial Items, intends to award a Sole Source Firm Fixed Price Contract to Procerus Technology (500 S. Geneva Road, Orem UT 84058-5801) for the procurement of autopilot equipment for the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS). NPS has a requirement for autopilot and airframe equipment to be used to conduct research in “saturation attacks,� where dozens of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) execute precision strikes nearly simultaneously. This research will lead to advanced technologies to defeat such threats. The items to be procured include twelve (12) Kestrel Autopilot version 2.4, twelve (12) Microhard Nano N920F modems, twelve (12) Unicom 60 Test Air Vehicle, one (1) Virtual Cockpit 2.6 / Commbox 1.1, one (1) Optional: Commbox Add on with Garmin GPS unit – plugs into Commbox – UAV’s can follow ground station, twelve (12) 900 mhz – Dipole communications antenna and coax cable, twelve (12) Ublox GPS, sixty (60) JST – 3pos, 6� pigtail cable for servo connections, twelve (12) JST – 3 post, 6� pigtail set for serial connections, forty-eight (48) batteries, twenty-four (24) props, twelve (12) prop shaft adapters. Accessories include: one (1) Gamepad controller, one (1) rabbit programming cable and adapter pigtail cable connection to autopilot, one (1) RC Trainer cable – 20� length and square 6 pin connector for Futaba and six (6) reusable foam shipping cases. The proposed contract action is for commercial supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 6.302-1. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, any and all capable parties that can meet the requirement shall contact the Contract Specialist by 30 August 2011. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract is based upon responses to this notice and is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The applicable NAICS code is 334511.
