THE TECHNOLOGY: This is an apparatus and method for increasing through-put in electrospray ionization (ESI)/mass spectrometry (MS) studies. The automated injection method replaces costly and time consuming manual injection, is reliable and does not require costly consumable parts associated with other automated injection methods. In addition, the method has been demonstrated to perform successfully at high pressures that are normally not tolerated by other methods.
