Background
The autoclave shall be used to manufacture composite components for Navy applications. This unit shall be a new, commercially available model. A commercially available model is defined as the Contractor's model which, on the date this solicitation is issued, has been designed, engineered, sold, or is being offered for sale through advertisements or the Contractor's published catalogue or brochures. Products such as a prototype unit, pre-production model, or experimental unit do not qualify as meeting the requirements specified herein. However, the Government will consider changes to an existing commercially available product design that may improve the efficiency, accuracy, or productivity of the machine or decrease its operational costs. The autoclave shall be capable of processing components at 900 degrees F and 250 psi. The autoclave shall provide vacuum and thermocouple monitoring to parts during processing. The autoclave shall have a working diameter of 120" and working length of 180". The autoclave shall be controlled via CPC software enabling custom processing cycles to be programmed and run.
