Pine Bluff Arsenal has a requirement for ASZM-TEDA Carbon for the production of the M49 and M98 Chemical Biological Filters. ASZM-TEDA Carbon must meet stringent quality standards and be environmentally controlled for humidity, temperature, and contamination. Combat Capabilities Development Command (CCDC), formerly the Edgewood Chemical Biological Command, is responsible for administering the qualification process for potential new sources of ASZM-TEDA Carbon as provided in the detail specification for the carbon, MIL-DTL- 32101 B with Amendment 1, updated December 2019. There is only one source that is Qualified and tested to produce ASZM-TEDA Carbon, Calgon Carbon Corporation. The Government intends to issue a sole source solicitation to Calgon Carbon (1DA66) for a 5 year, IDIQ contract. This 5 year contract shall have ramp-on provisions to allow any newly qualified companies to be solicited and added to the preceding award.
