The U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Eastern Acquisition Division-Kansas City office intends to award, on a sole source basis, under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), with Excelitas Technologies Corporation for one hundred (100) Flashtubes and fifty (50) Flashtube sockets for the ASOS Visibility Sensor for the NOAA National Weather Service National Reconditioning Center located in Kansas City, MO.

 A Sources Sought notice was posted on the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) website on December 16, 2014 and closed on December 22, 2014.  No responses were received.

 Justification for Sole Source

 The purpose of this acquisition is to support the ASOS Visibility Sensor observations and airport operations by replenishing logistics spares to repair failures at fielded locations thereby ensuring the system meets available requirements.  The flash sensor components are manufactured solely by Excelitas Techologies Corp. based upon their proprietary nature of their design.
