The U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Eastern Acquisition Division-Kansas City office intends to award, on a sole source basis, under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), with Vince Industries for one hundred fifty (150) RF Modem Switch Assemblies for the Automated Surface Observing System (ASOS) Acquisition Control Unit for the NOAA National Weather Service Office of Operational Systems located in Silver Spring, MD. 

A Sources Sought notice was posted on the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) website on May 2, 2016 and closed on May 12, 2016.  No responses were received. 

Justification for Sole Source 

The RF Modem Switches being purchased are manufactured solely by Vince Industries Inc. located in Lenexa, KS and is the only source of this part due to the proprietary nature of this product. All spares for the ASOS system are required to be identical to the item that was provided with the original equipment.
