The MSSE PMO is the current product manager for Preventive Medicine Sets, Kits, and Outfits. Arthropod repellent products are used by Preventive Medicine assets and individual Service Members to control arthropod vectors and nuisance biting arthropods, and prevent arthropod-vectored diseases. The repellents currently available to Service Members are applied to the skin or to uniform textiles. This RFI is investigating the possibility of finding vendors to provide a long-lasting, spatially-active arthropod repellent device that does not require a heat or power source and that prevents arthropod vectors and/or nuisance biting arthropods from moving into an area or coming into contact with Service Members. There shall be two devices, one to protect an individual Service Member and one to protect multiple Service Members occupying a common space such as a tent or physical fitness field.
