Berets. This Sources Sought Notice is to determine the availability and potential pricing of Berets. General Services Administration intends to award a firm fixed price (FFP) service contract for Berets to be used to support the Afghanistan National Army. This commercial acquisition will be accomplished in accordance with FAR Parts 12, 13 and 15. The contractor is expected to provide and deliver 25,000 Maroon Berets in various sizes to New Cumberland, PA. The Berets required shall be maroon in color, no inside liner, 1005 knitted wool, have an adjustable all-leather sweatband and be manufactured in accordance with MIL-B-43172. The Berets must be Berry Amendment compliant. Each small business that responds must also specify whether or not the manufacturer is a small business. The applicable North American Industrial Classification Code (NAICS Code) is 315991. The closing date and time for submission of offers will be contained in the solicitation. The solicitation and any/all amendments will be posted and available for viewing and downloading on the Government Electronic Posting System (EPS) site at www.fedbizopps.gov. No paper copies will be issued. When the solicitation is posted, it is incumbent upon the interested parties to review the aforementioned site regularly for any updates/amendments to any and all documents. All prospective offerors must have a Commercial and Government Entity Code (CAGE Code) and be registered in the Central Contractors Registration (CCR) at www.ccr.gov. In accordance with FAR 19.502-2, this action is 100% set-aside for small businesses. If no small businesses respond, the small business set aside will automatically be dissolved and no new solicitation will be posted. Offers shall be reviewed and considered by the Agency. This notice does not obligate the Government to award a contract, it does not restrict the Governments ultimate approach, nor does it obligate the Government to pay for any proposal preparation costs. The solicitation notice will be posted on or about 22 April 2008.
