Kandahar Airfield Regional Contracting Center (KAF-RCC) Sources Sought Notice 1.0. Type of Notification: Sources Sought. This is a sources sought notice only; the purpose of this notice is to acquire knowledge about potential qualified sources. Description: Non-Personal Services: Armed Services Guards (ASG). A brief summary of the primary duties that the ASG Service contractor must perform includes, but not limited to, the following: a) detecting, identifying, reporting, and guarding against threats related to unauthorized personnel, contraband, and instruments of damage, destruction, and information collection from entering the installation through the Entry Control Points (ECPs); b) conducting surveillance and counter-surveillance of the installation perimeter and vicinity from designated Perimeter Defensive Positions (PDPs) in order to prevent unauthorized personnel from gathering information or illegally entering the installation; c) employing the appropriate force to neutralize any threat from unauthorized individuals illegally attempting to enter the installation with the intent to harm personnel or damage facilities and equipment; and d) Must be able to provide the service at any of the, but not limited to, the following provinces: Farah, Nimroz, Helmand, Kandahar, Zabul, Uruzgan, and Day Kundi. 3.0. General Information: Information submitted in response to this sources sought notice is to be used for planning purposes only. This notice shall not be construed as a request for proposal. The Government does not intend to award a contract on this basis, or otherwise pay for the information solicited. No entitlement to payment of direct or indirect costs or charges by the government will accrue as a result of a submission or of a response or use of such information. Please return capability statements by 12:00 p.m., Kabul Local time (+4:30 GMT) on 14 October 2008. Respondents may be contacted for additional information. A letter stating your interest or requesting a copy of the solicitation is not sufficient to determine contractor capability. The RFP and all associated documents, when issued, will be posted on Federal Business Opportunity (www.fbo.gov) and www.militarycontracting.com.
