PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The primary function of this building is to house an electrical substation. The building will never be occupied. If maintenance is needed inside the building, it will only be for a brief period of time by one or two technicians. Two pedestrian doors and one overhead door are planned for in the remodel. A new HVAC system and a new lighting system, complete with exit lights, are provided. There is one underground pit in this building which allows access of underground electrical wiring, in large conduits or on a cable tray, from the adjacent AWWTP tunnel system to the north. The pit contains no HVAC equipment and is dry. The pit will typically be covered in metal grating. All building elements, including a precast plank roof, are non-combustible.
