The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts intends to award to a commercial project management firm to serve as the Center's Owner's Representative for the forthcoming expansion of the Kennedy Center.  The project consists of an approximately 60,000 square feet expansion to be situated on the south end of the existing facility.  The expansion will house educational and rehearsal space, offices, and events/dining space.  The Kennedy Center seeks a full service, multi-disciplinary firm to provide comprehensive project management services as the Center's representative and advocate for the planning, design, engineering, and construction of this project.

The John F. Kennedy Center Act, as amended in 2012 by Public Law TBD, grants the Kennedy Center's Board of Trustees authority to construct this expansion with non-appropriated funds.  This legislation gives the Board responsibility for the planning, design, engineering, and construction of the project, and also grants the Board full authority to negotiate any necessary contracts for planning, design, engineering, or construction of these buildings on the basis of contractor qualifications and price.  This project does not constitute an acquisition under the Federal Acquisition Regulation.

For further information, please contact Claudette Donlon, Executive Vice President, Administration, The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, 2700 F Street, N.W., 20566-00001.  Requests for a copy of the RFP should be sent by first class mail or by email to: [email protected].

The time and date for receipt of proposals is noon Eastern Standard Time on December 10, 2012.  The Kennedy Center reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to determine which proposer, if any, is qualified to perform the services required, and, if a contract is to be awarded, which proposal offers the Kennedy Center the best overall value.  The Kennedy Center also reserves the right to reject any or all proposals.
